Search Inside Yourself by Chade-Meng Tan is the best introductory book that I’ve read on meditation and mindfulness. The material is presented in a very simple and generally humorous manner (his style is corny, but it works). Meditation just make logical sense after reading this book.

Tan is the founder of the Search Inside Yourself course, a free 8-week meditation/Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program offered to Google employees (To my Google friends, go take the course!). Google also recently created a new organization called the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute where business professionals are taught how to become more compassionate and emotionally intelligent leaders through the application of meditation and mindfulness principles.
