I am a man of faith. I was raised Catholic and while I continue to follow my religion through church and prayer, it is my opinion that there is no one be-all-end-all religion. To me, all real religions that are based with the foundation of love, compassion, and morality, are just different translations and approaches to point people in the right direction. We are all trying to find meaning in life and to seek the Truth of this world we live in.

I use religion as a guide and a tool to keep me focused on pursuing a greater understanding of God. Spirituality in my opinion should be a very intimate and personal experience. It is a quest to find direction and to establish a relationship and communication with a higher power.

Over the past four years I have been drawn to the teachings of various spiritual and thought leaders. While studying these philosophies and spiritual texts were thought provoking and made sense to me intellectually, I did not understand or experience what they were preaching until I was able to silence my mind and look within through Vipassana meditation. I went to Yosemite to attend a 10-day Vipassana meditation course and returned slightly awakened.

Since that time I have practiced meditation and prayer regularly and have gained more clarity into who I am and what I want from life. As a result, my life has been magical with countless blessings and fortunate “coincidences” to help me along my path. It has made me a believer in the power of having clearly defined goals/dreams and backing it up with 100% faith. I have been focusing my energy on the dreams in my heart and have been acting upon inspired thought. This blog is one example.

I am very aware that my Soul/spiritual posts may not resonate with you. It is possible that many may disagree with my opinions and beliefs, and that is perfectly ok with me. My goal is not to convince anyone of anything. I just want to share my experiences and offer my insights.

However, for those readers who are interested in what I have to share, my posts require the acceptance or openness to:

–       the existence of a soul

–       the existence of a higher intelligence (I use the term God due to my Catholic upbringing, but Allah, Source Energy, Infinite Intelligence, the Universe etc. are equivalent)

–       the belief that all living things are interconnected

Matters of the heart and soul cannot be explained using logic. It takes faith. Please know that when I write in the Soul section, I am attempting to write from my heart. So, the best way to receive my message is to approach it with an open mind and the patience to read it slowly and mindfully.

Through Soul, I hope to spark an interest in you to want to explore the world beyond that which our five senses can interpret and what our logic has conditioned us to accept as reality. The end goal is to reestablish a connection with God, and the spiritual element of the world by learning how to turn down the dominant logical side of our brain and to begin looking more deeply inside ourselves. By learning to listen to our heart/soul/intuition for guidance in the direction of our lives, we can find clarity and also discover the path towards what we most desire from this mysteriously wonderful world.
